There may be certain times when you find that you are experiencing a lot of shedding and you have tried several things yet the shedding persists. Black Tea Rinses are an excellent natural remedy to help combat excessive hair shedding. Please note that there is a difference between hair that is shedding and breaking. To know whether your hair is shedding or breaking you can refer to this article here.
Incorporating Black Tea Rinses to your hair regimen on a as-needed basis will provide your hair with numerous benefits. Black Tea possesses excellent strengthening abilities. It will help prevent your hair from shedding because it contains caffeine. Caffeine stimulates hair growth and has the ability to inhibit the effects of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), one of the key hormones responsible for hair loss. Black Tea Rinses will also darken your hair over time.
Black Tea Rinses are quite easy to do and require one main ingredient which everyone has in their home already which is black tea. Black tea is regular tea that we all drink such as Lipton, PG Tips, Tetley and so on.
There are several ways to do Black Tea Rinses, here are some of them:
Method 1
Boil some water, after it has boiled pour it into a jug or bowl. Then place about 2-5 bags of black tea in the hot water and allow to steep for about 10-15 minutes. Next take out the tea bags and allow the tea to cool. You may choose to let the black tea steep overnight so that the tea becomes very concentrated, however this is not crucial.
Next pour the tea into a spray bottle and spray your entire scalp/hair until it is completely saturated or you can gently pour the tea over your scalp/hair if you do not have a spray bottle. Cover hair with a plastic cap and leave in hair for between 10-60 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and be sure to follow up with a Moisturising Deep Conditioner.
Method 2
Prepare the black tea as described in Method 1 above.
Wash your hair with your shampoo of choice, then pour the black tea over your scalp and hair or alternatively you can apply the tea using a spray bottle.
Cover hair with a plastic cap and leave in hair for about 10-60 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and then deep condition with your Moisturising Deep Conditioner of choice.
Method 3
Prepare the black tea as described in Method 1 above.
Wash your hair with a shampoo, then pour the black tea over your scalp and hair or alternatively you can apply the tea using a spray bottle. If you find like I do that the black tea tends to make your hair tangle apply the black tea to your scalp alone.
Next apply your moisturising deep conditioner over the tea already in your hair.
Proceed to deep condition as per normal and then rinse
Please note that for Black Tea Rinses it is always important to follow up with a Moisturising Deep Conditioner to combat some of the harsher effects of the Black Tea which may include leaving your hair hard or tangled.
